Potato - Potahto - Taters

What am I learning? I discovering that not all who are Reformed are Covenantal, and not all who are Covenantal believe that those who are not are Reformed.

The way the issues splinter the beauty of Reformed thinking irks me. It's like finding a gorgeous flower in a field and taking it home, only to find out that it emits a poisonous gas every 12 hours. Beauty and the beast.

It is very odd to me that people who are so sure of their theology would resort to such acrid pride and schism. The history of the Presbyterian church stands witness to the self-mutilation that is prevelant among those who would be "right." So much for no bitter aftertaste. And yet I stay in the flow of orthodoxy. Why? Because I'm becoming more sure of my theology. Maybe one day I, too, will be confident enough to cry "Heretic!". May it never be.
